(Atlantic) AtlanticFest will be held Saturday, August 8, rain or shine. AtlanticFest is the Atlantic Area Chamber of Commerce’s largest annual fundraiser.
“AtlanticFest is the largest fundraiser of the year for the Chamber. Our sponsors help cover a lot of the costs of the event, allowing us to raise funds through registration fees, pop stand sales and raffle ticket sales. We use the proceeds from AtlanticFest to support Chamber programs, business initiatives and community events throughout the year. We’re grateful for our partnership with First Whitney Bank and the experience AtlanticFest offers the community,” said Kelsey Beschorner, Executive Director of the Atlantic Area Chamber of Commerce.
Downtown Atlantic will be filled with fun activities for the whole family to enjoy. Activities begin early Saturday morning and continue throughout the afternoon. Start your day with a pancake breakfast or the annual Fun Run. There will be crafters from all over Southwest Iowa, as well as some of the best food vendors to satisfy any appetite. Kids can enjoy bounce houses, face painting, pedal pulls, train rides and games throughout City Park. The 28th Annual Car Show and 12th Annual Motorcycle Show will also return this year.
The entertainment lineup begins with a Cass County Sheriff’s Office K-9 demonstration from 10 to 11 a.m. Live music by the Randy Burk Duo follows from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Atlantic’s Got Talent closes out the afternoon from 1 to 3 p.m.
The 5th Annual Bags Tournament will return to City Park. Teams of two can enter for $50 to compete for guaranteed prizes of $500, $300 and $200. Registration begins at 10 a.m. at the City Park shelter.
Day-of registrations are accepted for the car show, motorcycle show, Fun Run and Bags Tournament. Event maps and other AtlanticFest information will be available at the Chamber booth in City Park. For a full schedule of AtlanticFest events, visit www.atlanticiowa.com/atlanticfest.
