(Griswold, IA) — Griswold CAM Softball had two players honored by the Iowa Girls Coaches Association on the All State team. Junior Courtney Follmann was named Third Team All State in Class 1A. Follmann hit .407 with 7 HR and 29 RBI plus added 35 runs scored. She also stole 14 bases and had a .983 fielding percentage at catcher. Tigers Head Coach Jody Rossell says she is a hard worker and very coachable
Sophomore Pitcher Ailey Wahlert was named 1A Honorable Mention — at the plate, Wahlert batted .397 with 3 HR and 25 RBI; in the circle she was the Tigers workhorse with a 3.00 ERA and 109 strikeouts in 114 innings.
Griswold CAM had two seniors this season — Braxton Gipple and Daphna Wahlert and Rossell says that it was incredible that Gipple had a chance to suit up this season
This was year two of a two year sharing agreement between Griswold and CAM for softball. It has not yet been determined whether that will continue. Rossell says that it has gone well
Griswold finished 17-7 overall.
