(Audubon Co.) Two weeks ago, the Audubon County Board of Supervisors discussed a request to purchase the county-owned Edwards Park.
The Audubon County Conservation Committee has made its decision.
In the early 1920s, a family member donated a six-acre piece of land to be turned into a park. Over the years, the property was passed down among several landowners. Then, in 1971, the Audubon County Conservation Board took over responsibility for the property. Family members of the original landowners are now interested in buying it back.
Audubon County Board of Supervisors Chair Kent Grabil said the County Conservation Committee voted at its regular meeting last week that they did not want to sell the property.
Grabil said they received a request from an adjacent landowner regarding deer hunting.
