(Des Moines, IA) A former contract employee of Iowa Workforce Development from Des Moines is sentenced to 12 months and one day in federal prison and ordered to pay 30-thousand dollars in a 2020 wire fraud case.
Twenty-nine-year-old Victoria Green of Des Moines used her position to fraudulently claim more than 29-thousand dollars in unemployment benefits in 2020. She submitted 25 fake benefit claims under her name and another 27 using someone else’s ID.
Green was also sentenced to three years of supervised release following her jail sentence. There is no parole in the federal system.
