(Atlantic) The Atlantic Community School District is offering grief counseling services following the death of 2026 Atlantic High School graduate Lucy Marie Cohrs.
In a message to families and the community, district officials said they are “deeply saddened” by Cohrs’ passing and extended their thoughts to her family, friends, classmates, and everyone impacted by the loss.
To support students, staff, and community members, grief counseling will be available Tuesday, June 30, in the Atlantic High School Media Center from 10 a.m. until noon.
The district also sent information to families through its school communication system, providing additional resources and guidance on helping young people cope with grief. School officials are encouraging families to review that information.
Meanwhile, the CAM Community School District said its thoughts are with everyone affected by this weekend’s tragic car accident. The district will have counselors available at CAM Jr./Sr. High School on Tuesday from noon until 4 p.m.
Any current CAM middle or high school student affected by the tragedy, or anyone who would like to speak with someone, is welcome to attend. No appointment is necessary.
Both school districts are encouraging their communities to continue keeping the families, friends, and everyone affected by the tragedy in their thoughts during this difficult time.
