Car vs Electric Scooter Crash in Grimes, Iowa

(Grimes,Iowa) A 14-year-old boy suffered serious injuries in a car vs. electric scooter crash in Grimes, Iowa.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office says the accident happened at 7:30 a.m. today at the intersection of Northeast Bridge Creek Crossing and Northeast Park Drive.

The 14-year-old male sustained serious injuries to his leg and was transported by the Johnston-Grimes Metro Fire Department to a local hospital for treatment.

The 66-year-old driver of the car remained on scene and was not injured. The Polk County Traffic Unit is investigating the cause of the crash. This remains an ongoing investigation, and no further information is available for release at this time.
