(Des Moines, IA) — If you like to check out the animals at the Iowa State Fair, your eyes and nose will notice some changes this year. Iowa State Fair CEO Jeremy Parsons says a two-year, 13 million-dollar renovation of the horse barn is now complete.
Parsons says the new ventilation system should help the barn feel more comfortable.
“A more robust ventilation system in there to keep the air moving. If you’ve spent time in the horse barn, it can get stuffy in there, so large fans and ventilation for everybody to enjoy, handicap accessible restrooms, brand new restrooms,” said Parsons.
Last week, it was announced 20-million dollars worth of work on the swine barn will begin once the fair ends. The cattle barn is next.
The fair runs August 13th to 23rd.
