(Undated) LifeServe Blood Center is hosting Blood Donor Days throughout the month of June, offering donors exclusive t-shirts, the chance to win two 4-day passes to Hinterland Music Festival, and special scratch-off tickets for prizes like gift cards and more from local businesses.
“The need for blood donations does not go away during the summer months, and hospital patients don’t get a summer break or vacation,” said Tim Paluch, LifeServe Director of PR & Marketing. “And right now, the blood supply is already being impacted by a drop in donations in recent weeks and months.”
Blood transfusions are extremely important, and every donation can save or positively impact up to three local lives. Medical professionals call the summer “trauma season” due to an increase in outdoor activities and travel. There is also still a constant medical need for blood transfusions for patients requiring certain treatments.
For Atlantic residents hoping to donate, the Rachel Knop Fight Blood Drive at Fight Parking Lot in Shelby will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m on Saturday, June 6. Learn more about Blood Donor Days and nearby donation centers at lifeserve.info/donorvibes.
