(Atlantic) Former Atlantic School District employee Jesse McCann has been charged with Grooming and Sexual Exploitation by a School Employee.
The Atlantic Police Department says on January 19, 2026, they received a report alleging inappropriate behavior by an employee of the Atlantic Community School District.
The complaint alleged that Jesse McCann had engaged in inappropriate contact, communication, and interactions with female students.
Over the course of several months, the Atlantic Police Department conducted an extensive investigation into these allegations. As a result of that investigation, Jesse McCann has been charged with Grooming (Class D Felony) and Sexual Exploitation by a School Employee (Class D Felony).
On June 1, 2026, Jesse McCann, of Greenfield, Iowa, turned himself in at the Cass County Jail on the above-listed charges, where he was booked and held on a $50,000 cash bond.
The Atlantic Police Department worked alongside the Iowa Attorney General’s Office throughout this investigation.
