Cerro Gordo County Man Hurt in Motorcycle Crash in Northern Iowa

(Worth County, Iowa)  A Mason City man suffered serious injuries in a motorcycle crash Thursday evening in northern Iowa.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, the accident occurred around 7:15 p.m. on Highway 9 near the intersection with Worth County Road A45, west of Hanlontown.

Authorities say 42-year-old Jeffery Collins was traveling westbound on his motorcycle at a high rate of speed when he was unable to negotiate a curve. The motorcycle entered the north ditch, ejecting Collins from the bike.

Collins was transported by Forest City Ambulance to MercyOne Medical Center in Mason City for treatment of serious injuries.
