(Red Oak) — Montgomery County Memorial Hospital (MCMH) will open a new Downtown Rural Health Clinic in early 2027 after approving the acquisition of Dental Care, PC on May 27, 2026. The clinic will integrate dental, primary care, urgent care, and eventually behavioral health services under one roof.
MCMH leaders and local providers recognized that limited access to dental care in rural Iowa often leads to broader health issues. Partnering with Dr. Kim Truka, who has served the community through Dental Care, PC, this initiative aims to improve healthcare access and outcomes.
The clinic, the first in Iowa to integrate dental services into a Rural Health Clinic model, will accept all insurances and maintain existing patient relationships. It will operate Monday–Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon, offering same-day urgent care.
MCMH sees this as a model for other rural communities, emphasizing connected, convenient care. Behavioral health services are planned for the future. Click the link to view the entire press release. mcmh.org/dental.
