(Anita, IA) — CAM has a winning tradition in baseball with a winning record in 10 of the last 11 years and have a lot coming back off last year’s 17-4 team. The Cougars must re tool a little in the pitching department after losing their top two starters in Makade Paulsen and Lukas James but Head Coach Mick Long will turn to Junior Carson McKee to anchor the staff
Offensively, McKee will be the leadoff hitter after an on base percentage of .543 and a .413 batting average last year. Long will also count on one of his two seniors to be a run producer
Junior Calen Anstey saw limited time last year but should see more time in the outfield; Junior Kayden Winther hit .250 last year and Long expects those numbers to improve; Cohen McCann is another player who only was used on the basepaths last year and should see more at bats — McCann had 25 stolen bases last year, McKee 27, Bower 23 so do not be surprised to see CAM run more
CAM opens the season Monday, May 18 at Bedford.
