(Storm Lake) Ashley WolfTornabane, US House candidate for Iowa’s 4th Congressional District, and Bill Owen, candidate for Iowa State House District 11, will hold town halls in Harlan and Audubon on Saturday, April 25th.
Ashley said, “We hope people from all political backgrounds come. We want to listen to what issues are most important to everyday Iowans because we want to represent everyone within our districts. Additionally, voters can ask us anything.” The details for these Saturday, April 25th town halls are:
-
9:30-11am in Harlan: CG Therkildsen Activity Center in the Max Plumb Meeting Room 706 Victoria St
-
12:30-2pm in Audubon: Albert the Bull Park Shelter House,1110 E Division St
The objective is for attendees to hear from the candidates, ask any questions they may have, and let the candidates know what issues are most important to them.
“I invite any Democratic candidates running for State House or State Senate to participate in my town halls so they’re able to get more exposure, answer questions pertaining to the state level, and so attendees can see how the state and federal legislatures should ideally work together for the best outcomes,” WolfTornabane said.
These events are part of WolfTornabane’s 36 county Listening Tour, in which she is holding a town hall in each 4th District county before the June 2nd primary election.
WolfTornabane said, “I want to focus on policies that would stop corruption in our government, such as prohibiting congressmembers from trading stocks, and making life more affordable for the average American, enacting universal healthcare and a sustainable, equitable minimum wage. Additionally, we need policies that favor our small and midsized family farmers and clean up our water. My goal is a Happier, Healthier Iowa.”
Bill Owen, Candidate for House District 11, shares many of Ashley’s hopes and priorities for Iowa. He is listening to District 11 voters about clean water, cancer rates, public K-12 education, affordability and preserving small family farms. Owen says, “Work with me to fix rather than fight.”
