(Sioux City) Three Hawkeye Ten Conference girls’ teams, and four Hawkeye Ten Conference boy’s track teams brought home some hardware from the Sioux Relays on Saturday.
The Atlantic girls delivered a strong showing across multiple events, highlighted by standout performances in both individual and relay competitions.
Jayci Reed topped the field in the Class B 100-meter hurdles, clocking a winning time of 15.77. The senior continued her impressive day by placing second in the all-class elite race with a time of 16.21. Teammate Adler Bruce also competed well in the hurdles, finishing fifth in the Class B race at 16.66 before qualifying for the elite field, where she placed eighth in 17.68.
In the sprints, Stella Van Aernam turned in a pair of top finishes. She placed second in the Class B 100 meters with a time of 12.84 and followed that up with a fourth-place finish in the elite race, crossing the line in 12.91.
Atlantic’s relay teams contributed several key performances. The shuttle hurdle relay team of Aiza Jones, Emerie Jones, Adler Bruce, and Jayci Reed claimed first place with a time of 1:09.60. The 4×100-meter relay team of Van Aernam, Reed, Allison Middents, and Lila Wiederstein earned a third-place finish in 50.83. In the 4×200-meter relay, the group of Jones, Middents, Hass, and Van Aernam took fourth in 1:50.48, while the 800-sprint medley team of Reed, Wiederstein, Jones, and Hass also placed fourth with a time of 1:59.11. The 4×800-meter relay team of Kaitlyn Hickman, Katrina Williams, Gabriel Engler, and Ximena Cordero-Mendez finished sixth in 10:39.30. Atlantic also saw solid performances in the 400-meter hurdles, where Adler Bruce placed fifth in 1:13.76 and Katrina Williams finished eighth in 1:16.62.
In field events, Lila Wiederstein secured a fourth-place finish in the long jump with a mark of 17-04.50.
Glenwood turned in a strong all-around performance, highlighted by standout efforts in the hurdles and distance events along with key relay finishes.
Megan Hughes led the way with an impressive day in the hurdles. She placed second in the Class B 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.84, then came back to claim the title in the elite race, winning in 15.63.
In the distance events, Grace Berglund delivered a pair of top finishes. She took third in the 3000 meters with a time of 10:21.14 and added a fourth-place finish in the 1500 meters, clocking 4:54.28.
Olivia Wright contributed in the sprints, finishing fourth in the 100 meters with a time of 12.90. In the 400 meters, Caitlin Hebel placed fourth with a time of 1:01.49, while Haylee Hughes finished seventh in the all-class race in 1:03.67.
Glenwood also found success in relay competition. The 4×800-meter relay team of Hebel, Hughes, Houser, and Berglund earned a runner-up finish, while the 4×200-meter relay team of Kelsey, Wright, Megan Hughes, and Hebel also placed second with a time of 1:49.24.

Atlantic put together a solid meet with strong showings in both individual events and relays.
Ethan McNeal led the way in the sprints, finishing second in the 100 meters with a time of 11.05. He returned for the elite race and improved his mark, placing third overall in 10.94.
In the hurdles, Zander Killion recorded a fourth-place finish in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.73, while Sawyer Tarrell added a sixth-place effort in the 400-meter hurdles, clocking 58.99.
Atlantic’s relay teams turned in several competitive performances. The 4×100-meter relay team of Rutherford, McNeal, Killion, and Colin Rudy placed fourth in 43.96. The 4×800-meter relay squad of Sawyer Tarrell, Mason Betts, Corbin Ritter, and Rudy finished fifth in 8:33.74. In the shuttle hurdle relay, Shelton Mualia, Jaxon Hepler, Grant Petty, and Killion took sixth in 1:06.23, while the 4×200-meter relay team of Rutherford, Rudy, Killion, and McNeal placed seventh in 1:33.41.
In distance competition, Mason Betts finished eighth in the 1600 meters with a time of 4:45.43.
In the field events, Gavin McLaren delivered a standout performance with a second-place finish in the shot put, recording a throw of 53-06.00.
Clarinda delivered an impressive performance highlighted by relay victories and standout individual efforts.
The Cardinals were led by their 4×100-meter relay team of Wagoner, Phillips, Hawley, and Kaiden Roop, who topped the field with a winning time of 43.53. Clarinda also earned a third-place finish in the 4×200-meter relay, as Hawley, Wagoner, Cooper Baumgart, and Roop combined for a time of 1:31.56. In the 4×400-meter relay, the quartet of Wagoner, Baumgart, Stogdill, and Hawley added another strong finish, placing third in 3:29.82.
Individually, Kaiden Roop placed fourth in the 100 meters with a time of 11.21. Karson Johnson had a standout day in wheelchair events, capturing first place in the 100-meter wheelchair race in 22.08 and adding another win in the 400-meter wheelchair in 1:28.70.
In the field events, Cooper Baumgart tied for fifth in the high jump with a clearance of 5-10.00.
Glenwood turned in a well-rounded performance with strong finishes in both track and field events.
Haze Stephens led the way on the track, finishing third in the all-class 400 meters with a time of 51.25. In the hurdles, Dylan Powles placed seventh in the 400-meter hurdles, clocking 59.07.
Glenwood’s relay teams delivered several solid efforts. The 4×100-meter relay team of Razor, Eiseman, Pratt, and Crouch earned a third-place finish in 43.87. The 4×200-meter relay squad of Crouch, Razor, Pratt, and Stephens placed fifth in 1:31.95. In the distance relays, the team of Crouch, Stephens, Powles, and Keller finished third in the 1600-meter medley relay with a time of 3:45.37, while Stanislav, Keller, Powles, and Stephens took fifth in the 4×400-meter relay in 3:35.49. The shuttle hurdle relay team of Powles, Williams, Pratt, and Lopez finished eighth in 1:08.52.
In the field events, Evan Stanislav cleared 6-01.00 to finish second in the high jump. Shain Pratt added a third-place finish in the long jump with a leap of 21-11.00. Lincoln Skarmulis contributed with a pair of fifth-place finishes, recording a throw of 49-01.50 in the shot put and 151-11.00 in the discus.
