(Atlantic) The Atlantic Boys’ Soccer team opens the season at home against Carroll tonight. Head Coach Ben Andersen says 22 players reported to pre-season practice.
Andersen says seven players who saw action on the varsity are back this season.
The Trojans tasted some competition in a scrimmage last week. Andersen says the team is still a little rough around the edges, and he is trying out different formations to see where his players will fit in and how he wants them to play.
Andersen is impressed with some of the young prospects.
Coach Andersen, in his first year as head coach, is an Atlantic High graduate and played soccer for the Trojans. Andersen teaches history at Atlantic High School.
The Carroll and Atlantic game kicks off at 6:00 p.m.
