(Atlantic) On March 18, the Atlantic City Council approved the hiring of Maggie Robinson as the new Atlantic Parks and Recreation Director.
Robinson holds a bachelor’s degree in Park and Recreation Management from Northwest Missouri State University and an MBA from the University of Vermont. She has extensive experience leading community programs focused on workforce development, youth enrichment, and outdoor recreation, including managing staff, securing grants, building partnerships, and overseeing program operations. Robinson has also led youth and after-school programs and organized recreational and camp activities.
Robinson says getting people outside is her passion. Maggie grew up on a farm north of Atlantic and loved spending time outdoors, something she has carried into adulthood. When asked about the current Atlantic Park and Recreation opportunities, Maggie mentions the Schildberg Recreation area
Robinson says she is looking forward to learning more from community stakeholders and taxpayers.
Robinson says she is going to gauge the public before she delves into adding additional programs.
According to city officials, Maggie Robinson brings a strong knowledge of the local community and rural values, along with endorsements from parks and recreation leaders Roger Herring and Dan Haynes.
