(Appanoose Co.) One person died following a two-vehicle accident in Appanoose County Friday afternoon. One other person was injured.
The Iowa State Patrol says the accident happened at 3:07 p.m. at 18th Street and Green Street. A 16-year-old male from Centerville was driving a 2011 GMC Acadia northbound on S 18th Street. A 2003 Yamaha motorcycle, driven by 50-year-old Brandon Kerr Baughman, of Unionville, Missouri, was southbound on S 18th Street. The teen turned west onto Green Street and the motorcycle crashed into the passenger side of the GMC Acadia.
Brandon Kerr Baughman was transported to the Centerville Hospital by Centerville EMS where he died from his injuries. Helen Lucine Elarton, 58, of Centerville, was transported to the Centerville Hospital by Centerville EMS to be treated for injuries.
