(Des Moines) Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig announced the Iowa Renewable Fuels Infrastructure Program Board approved 33 ethanol infrastructure grants during its March 11 meeting, supporting projects in 25 counties.
The grants total more than $2.12 million and will help fuel retailers install or upgrade equipment to expand access to E15 (Unleaded 88) at more gas stations.
Here in southwest Iowa, Olsen Fuel Supply, Inc. was awarded a $25,000 grant.
Since 2006, the program has invested over $72 million in renewable fuels infrastructure, matched by more than $280 million from fuel retailers. Iowa now has more than 1,100 stations offering E15—more than half of all licensed retailers—with over 150 more expected to add it by the end of 2026.
