(Atlantic) The Atlantic City Council approved the appointment of Maggie Robinson as the Atlantic Parks & Recreation Director on Wednesday.

Maggie Robinson holds a bachelor’s degree in Park and Recreation Management from Northwest Missouri State University and an MBA from the University of Vermont. She has extensive experience leading community programs focused on workforce development, youth enrichment, and outdoor recreation, including managing staff, securing grants, building partnerships, and overseeing program operations. Robinson has also led youth and afterschool programs and organized recreational and camp activities. A graduate of Atlantic High School who grew up on an Iowa farm, she brings strong knowledge of the local community and rural values, along with endorsements from parks and recreation leaders Roger Herring and Dan Haynes.
The Council set Robinson’s starting salary at $72,500 and she was given two weeks of credited vacation.
The City Council also approved an agreement between the Atlantic Volunteer Fire Department, the City of Atlantic, and Grove Township to provide fire protection services within Grove Township.
