(Cass Co.) The Cass County Board of Supervisors held a joint meeting with Shelby County this morning on vacating a portion of Herbers Akron Road on the county line north of Marne.
It was noted that all property owners will still have access to their land.
Both Boards approved vacating that portion of road.
In other action, the Cass County Supervisors opened the sealed bids for the cash rent lease for the county-owned farmland. The board received five bids ranging from $202.68 per acre to $328.80 per acre. The board approved the bid Jeffrey Johnson at $328.80.
The board also approved Compensation for Election Officials.
The Supervisors then approved the amended 2026 Noxious Weed Control Program; approved the Fiscal Year 2025 Engagement Letter with Gronewold, Bell, Kyhnn & Co. P.C.; approved the resignation of Linda Olsen as Benton Township Clerk effective July 1, 2026; and approved the appointment of Jill Irlmeier as Benton Township Clerk effective July 1, 2026.
