Class 4A Championship:
Carlisle 38, Dallas Center-Grimes 36
(Des Moines) Carlisle won its first state championship with a 38–36 victory over Dallas Center-Grimes in the Class 4A title game. The Wildcats tightened their defense in the second half and made key plays late to secure the win. Carlisle finished 26–1, with its only loss coming by one point to West Des Moines Valley. Dallas Center-Grimes, the 2023 champion, ended its season 23–3 after having a 15-game winning streak snapped. Star guard Macy Comito, who will play at Iowa State, led Carlisle with 17 points, five assists and three steals and was named captain of the all-tournament team. Ella Smith added nine points and five rebounds, and Mallie Stoner scored eight. Carlisle trailed 21–16 at halftime but held the Mustangs to just three field goals in the second half. Macy Meyer led Dallas Center-Grimes with 13 points, while Leah Brauch scored eight and Ava Smid had six points and 10 rebounds.

Class 2A Championship
Rock Valley 67 Hinton, 57
(Des Moines) Rock Valley captured the Class 2A state title with a 67–57 win over defending champion Hinton, powered by a record-breaking 3-point shooting performance from Haevyn Ranschau. She hit nine 3-pointers — the most ever in a state tournament game — and scored 29 points as the Rockets made 14 triples, breaking the previous 2A record of 11. Ranschau finished the tournament with 15 made 3s, another 2A record, and Rock Valley set a team mark with 26. The Rockets ended their season 25–2 while avenging a February loss to Hinton. Hudsyn Ranschau added 18 points with three 3-pointers and Caydence Harmsen scored 14 points with eight rebounds and six assists. All three were named to the all-tournament team, with Haevyn Ranschau as captain. Hinton (22–2), which had won 20 straight games, was led by Sydney Doeschot with 19 points. The title is Rock Valley’s first since its early-2000s run led by sharpshooter Deb Remmerde, whose niece Eva Remmerde is on this year’s team.

Class 1A Championship:
Newell-Fonda 64 Bishop Garrigan, 56
(Des Moines) Newell-Fonda won the Class 1A girls state championship, defeating Algona Bishop Garrigan 64–56 to finish the 2026 Iowa Girls State Tournament.The Mustangs built a 22-point lead before holding off a late rally. It marks their fourth title in eight years and fifth overall, finishing a 25–2 season and reaching the state finals for the fourth straight year. Ellie Siever and freshman Quinn Siever led Newell-Fonda with 16 points each. Rylee Hogrefe scored 15 and Jocee Walsh added 11. Bishop Garrigan (24–3) was led by Sacha Alesch and Graclyn Eastman with 16 points each, while Emmi Bartolo and Madelyn Tigges scored 12 apiece. Eastman also had 16 rebounds as the Golden Bears outrebounded Newell-Fonda 43–21. After trailing 39–19 at halftime, Garrigan cut the lead to 60–56 late, but Newell-Fonda sealed the win with free throws in the final seconds. The game marked the fourth championship matchup between the rivals, with Newell-Fonda now winning three of them.
