(Guthrie Center, IA) — Nobody likes to use the term rebuilding year but that is what AC/GC boys basketball went through this season. After five straight winning seasons and a breath away from the state tournament a year ago, the Chargers slipped to 10-13 this season. Head Coach Lance Kading will lose three seniors and all starters — Tommy Skram (16.4 ppg), Joe Crawford (14.4 ppg) and Blaize Dorsey (4.7 ppg) and Kading saw each of them grow up
Coming back next year will be Juniors Preston Kent (7.2 ppg) and Jonny Kading (6.4 ppg) and Kading says Kent’s game really improved this season
AC/GC used a lot of young players this season and Kading expects them to make a jump forward next year — Sophomore Hudson Gilland and Freshmen Joe Fagan, Will Skram, Andrew Baumert, Andrew Langgard and Reece Emgarten. Kading says one big emphasis is for his team to get stronger
Kading says there is a lot of potential for his team next season but size will still be an issue.
