(Dallas County, Iowa) — An Urbandale man accused of threatening to bomb the Dallas County Courthouse is facing charges. The Sheriff’s Office says Ryan Van Gorp is charged with two felony counts of making of terrorism threats. Deputies say search warrants turned up a cell phone belonging to Van Gorp that was used to submit an online tip that explosive devices were placed in the Dallas County Courthouse on February 6th. A search of the building didn’t find anything. The sheriff’s office says Van Gorp was set to be sentenced on a pair of court cases the same day the bomb threat was made.
