(Des Moines) Enjoy the warm weather while it lasts; it is about to change. Temperatures are forecast to reach the upper 60s today, the lower 70s on Tuesday, and 60 again on Wednesday. However, Alexis Jimenez, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Des Moines, says the weather pattern is about to shift to more typical conditions for this time of year.
Jimenez says a system is expected to move through the northern half of the state, bringing mixed precipitation and a transition to snow. Jimenez says high temperatures are forecast to peak out in the 30s in the north and 40s in the south. Jimenez says a warm-up is in the forecast for the middle of next week.
