(Griswold) The Griswold School District plans to offer a construction trades program for students, aiming to launch it next school year.
Griswold Schools Superintendent Dave Henrichs says the district has been working with Iowa Western Community College for the past two years to secure a construction trades instructor. However, Iowa Western has been unable to find an instructor.
Henrichs says a couple of local contractors expressed interest in helping with the program, but time constraints would not allow them to provide the service. He says the district has now found an individual who is willing and qualified to teach the class.
Henrichs did not release the applicant’s name and says the district is waiting for approval from officials with Iowa Western Community College.
Henrichs says if everything works out, the district hopes to begin offering the construction trades program next school year.
