(Kingsley, IA) — CAM’s football team will have to be road warriors tonight as they travel north to face Kingsley Pierson in the first round of the 8 Man playoffs.
The Cougars have won four in a row and Head Coach Nick Kauffman says there is a ton of positivity with the team and they have improved in various areas.
On defense, Kauffman says the line is winning battles on the line of scrimmage and is getting production from a lot of players like Brentyn Hoover who had 7.5 tackles and 5 TFLs in last week’s win over Ar-We-Va
Kauffman says the passing game has needed time to develop and his son and Junio QB Zach Kauffman is hooking up with multiple receivers — Carson McKee has 23 catches for 500 yards and 6 TD; Kayden Winther 22 receptions for 235 and 5 TD; Kason Calhoun 19 catches for 259 and 3 TD; and Calen Anstey 12 for 217 and 3 TD.
Kingsley Pierson is the District One champ — they have run for 1,541 yards and thrown for 1,084 yards. Kuaffman says they have a talented team
Junior Darius Rasmussen is the tailback for the Panthers who is only 5 foot 6. On defense, Senior Wyatt Klaschen leads with 43.5 tackles including 10.5 for a loss and 4.5 QB sacks. Kauffman says their defense has talent all over the place
