(Atlantic) The Atlantic School Board will take action on the Superintendent’s recommendation to terminate employee Jesse McCann. Last week, the School Board had set a special meeting to act on the resignation of McCann, but that meeting was cancelled. McCann was listed on the school website at the High School Counselor.
The School Board will also act on the resignations/retirements of Melanie McDermott (Food Service) effective January 30th, Brenden Casey (9th Grade Football Coach Fall 2026), and Allison Widrowicz (Special Education Teacher) effective end of school year. Recommendations to hire include: Heath Kelley (High School Football Assistance Coach Fall 2026), Kenna McGurren (9-12th Grade Visual Arts Teacher Fall 2026), Spring Sports Contracts, and Summer Sports Contracts.
Action items include board policies, FCA Club, and setting public hearing dates for the 2026-2027 School Master Calendar and FY27 Budget.
The meeting is Wednesday, February 11th at 6:00 p.m. at the High School Media Center.
