(Des Moines) District #9 State House Representative Tom Moore, of Griswold, a member of the Education Committee, says six bills were passed out of committee this past week. Representative Moore voted no on three of the six House Files.
Moore voted no on HF 2121, which extends the prohibition on gender theory and sexual orientation instruction through 12th grade—currently prohibited in K-6. Moore says he voted no on this for two reasons.
Moore says he also believes in local control. He says that if the public school system wants to teach this and parents want it taught, Moore will not stand in the way.
HF 2121 passed out of committee by a vote of 14-9.
