(Atlantic) The landscape at the Camblin Hills Housing Development Project continues to take shape. Construction crews have made significant progress since the start of January on the 142-unit development.
Vision Atlantic President Christina Bateman says favorable weather has helped move the project along.
Bateman adds that flooring is now being installed in the condominium units, while local contractors continue to make substantial progress on the tiny home portion of the development.
Bateman says the housing project includes 48 total units this year. Ten of the 48 are tiny homes, owned by Vision Atlantic, and rented out Airbnb-style.
The project includes 14 condominium units scheduled for construction this year, along with 17 smaller single-family homes ranging from 1,250 to 1,350 square feet on the main level, each with a two-car garage.
Bateman says construction will also begin on the larger custom-built homes, featuring 1,800 to 1,900 square feet on the main floor, three-car garages, and unfinished basements.
She adds that fundraising efforts are ongoing to reach 100 percent by the end of the year to secure the Lakin Foundation grant for the 300-capacity childcare center and YMCA expansion project. Bateman says Vision Atlantic needs to raise between $5 and $6 million to meet that goal.
