(Red Oak) The Red Oak Music Boosters announce the launch of the “Raise the Curtain” Fundraising Campaign, a year-long initiative designed to enhance the performing arts experience for students in the Red Oak Community School District.
Alicia Johnson, President of the Red Oak Music Boosters, says this campaign will fund essential instruments, curriculum improvements, and auditorium upgrades, assuring their students have the best opportunities to learn, perform, and shine.
Johnson says the campaign goal is to raise $150,000, with a Phase 1 goal of $50,000. Johnson says Phase I will make an immediate impact by funding energy-efficient LED lighting for stage safety and professional performance, stage curtains to complete the 2019 renovation, and sound improvements. Phase I also includes a modern Auditorium sound system and reliable digital pianos so that every student can learn and perform without limitations.
According to APA, the NAMM Foundation, NEA, and NAfMe, strong arts programs have been proven to attract families to school districts, improve academic achievement, and strengthen community pride. She says research shows schools with music programs report high attendance (93.3%) and graduation rates (90%), and music education builds confidence, leadership, and teamwork skills that last a lifetime.
Johnson says there are five donor levels:
*Marquee Society-$5,000
*Leading Role-$2,500-$4,999
*Encore Ensemble-$1,000-$2,499
*Backstage Pass-$250-$999
*Opening Act-$25.00-$249.00
