(Des Moines) The National Weather Service issued a Winter Weather Advisory for counties in west central and east central Iowa today.
The advisory is in effect from noon today until midnight. This includes the area counties of Crawford, Carroll, Harrison, Shelby, Audubon, Guthrie, Adair, Madison, and Dallas Counties.
The forecast calls for total snow accumulations of two to five inches.
A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for northern Iowa. Heavy snow of up to six inches is forecast for this area. Locally higher amounts could reach eight inches.
At least a dusting of snow is most likely along a line from a point northeast of Columbus, Nebraska, to Red Oak. The highest potential for one or more inches of snow will be along a line from Plainview, Nebraska, to Harlan, Iowa.
