(Griswold, IA) — In 8 Man, District 9, CAM will travel to Griswold tonight. Both teams are coming off losses — the Tigers fell to Ar-We-Va 63-12 last week and have lost 5 in a row. Griswold has allowed a total of 387 points this season — that is an average of just over 55 a game. They gave up 41 in the first quarter to the Rockets. The offense is still adjusting to new quarterback Dain Laverty who has started the last three. Tigers Head Coach Seth Lembke is trying to get Laverty to slow his body down in the passing game
Griswold is very young — there’s only 2 seniors and RJ Dishong is out for the season with an injury. The other is Wyatt Silk who only played a little last week — Lemke says he had some soreness in his knees but he says he will be ready to go tonight
CAM’s Senior leader Collin Bower is doubtful for tonight’s game with an injury but Lembke says the Cougars have plenty of weapons they will have to account for
Missing Bower will force other guys into different roles for CAM. On offense, QB Zach Kauffman may have to run the ball more along with Kayden Winther. Carson McKee had 6 catches for 143 yards and 4 TD in last week’s 56-52 loss to Exira EHK. On defense, Head Coach Nick Kauffman will need others to adjust to their new positions quickly
Kauffman is very familiar with some of the players of Griswold but he is more worried about his own ship than the Tigers because even with the loss last week, they are still alive for the number two seed in the district
CAM is 3-3, Griswold 1-6
