(Atlantic) The Cass County Library Association (CCLA) is inviting the community to a night of fun and friendly competition to support Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library program in Cass County.
Pizza, Puzzle, & Pub Night will take place Saturday, November 1, at The Venue in Atlantic. Teams of four will compete to be the first to finish a 300-piece puzzle, eat a large pizza, and drink 12 bottled or canned beverages. Participants choosing alcoholic drinks must bring valid ID.
Team registration is $120, while spectators can attend for $10. The evening will also feature “puzzle up” opportunities for an additional fee, though teams dressed in Halloween costumes will earn a free puzzle up. A cash bar will be available, with tips encouraged.
Proceeds benefit Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, which mails a free book each month to children under age 5. Currently, 358 Cass County children are enrolled, with more than 500 having participated since the program began. It costs about $31 per year to provide books for each child, and CCLA fundraises to cover that expense.
Teams must register by October 25, either through an online form or with a paper form available at local libraries. Payment by cash or check is required.
Families can enroll their children in the Imagination Library by visiting www.imaginationlibrary.com and selecting “Check Availability.”
The Cass County Library Association is made up of libraries in Anita, Atlantic, Cumberland, Griswold, Lewis, and Massena, working together to strengthen library services throughout the county.
