(Atlantic) Senator Chuck Grassley met with members of the Cass County Farm Bureau and others in the Ag community at TS Bank in Atlantic Friday afternoon.
Grassley addressed the tax bill passed in July, noting that it is more than just a tax bill. In addition to eliminating taxes on overtime and tips, it provides a $6,000 tax credit for senior citizens who must report 85 percent of their Social Security as income. The bill also includes other provisions…
Grassley noted that some of the items that would normally be in the five-year farm bill was in this tax bill.
Grassley said that they are “18-months ahead of where they were a year ago”….
Grassley said that with the Senate not in session during August, he has had the chance to travel the state. He still has 14 counties left to visit in order to complete his 45th consecutive year of holding a Q&A in every county in Iowa.
