(Atlantic) Women involved in agriculture are invited to take part in the Women Managing Farmland Forum, hosted by Iowa State University Extension and Outreach this September. The Southwest Iowa forum will be held Monday, September 15, at the Cass County Community Center in Atlantic.
The event is one of four forums planned across Iowa, with additional sessions scheduled for Sept. 16 in Madrid, Sept. 17 in Nashua, and Sept. 18 in Moravia.
Designed for women landowners, farmers, and agricultural decision-makers, the in-person forums provide a full day of expert-led sessions on farmland leasing, conservation practices, and farm transition planning. Attendees will also have time to share experiences and network with others who care about the land.
The forum will run from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with optional local tours available from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Registration is $25.
Organizers encourage women of all ages to attend, noting that women play key roles in farmland leasing, conservation practices, and transition and estate planning. By combining strategies, attendees can strengthen their farmland management while preparing for the next generation of farmers.
