(Sac Co.) A Wall Lake man died in a two-vehicle accident Thursday morning in Sac County.
The Iowa State Patrol reports the crash happened at 7:21 a.m. on Union Avenue, where dense fog was present.
According to the report, 47-year-old Jeremy Fank of Carroll was driving a 2013 Dodge Ram northbound and attempted to pass a semi. While passing, he saw a southbound 2025 Toyota Camry driven by 90-year-old Roy Russom of Wall Lake.
Both drivers tried to avoid a collision by swerving toward the west ditch, but the Dodge Ram struck the front driver’s side of the Toyota Camry before both vehicles came to rest in the ditch.
Russom was pronounced dead at the scene.
