(Exira, IA) — After a tough start, Exira EHK baseball played much better last week. The Spartans lost by 3 to Ar-We-Va but were competitive against CAM and Woodbine and Head Coach Trey Petersen got his first career win beating Griswold 2-1.
The offense continues to struggle to produce runs — Exira EHK is hitting just .181 as a team and averaging about 2 runs a game but Petersen says the defense has really been most improved
Alex Hansen is the team’s leading hitter at .261 and Petersen says he has overcome a slow start to be the best pitcher with a 4.38 ERA and 23 strikeouts in 16 innings pitched
Exira EHK has a rematch with Coon Rapids Bayard today, host IKM Manning Wednesday and visit Boyer Valley Friday.
