(Red Oak) — The Montgomery County Board of Supervisors has approved the lowest bid for concrete work on the courthouse parking lot. Board Chairperson Charla Schmid opened three submitted bids, with Echternach Construction of Red Oak offering the lowest at $56,668.00.
Maintenance Director Dan Wright noted that he, with assistance from the Secondary Roads Department, will handle the removal of the existing concrete.
The other two bids came at $66,078.80 and $77,500.00. Wright also mentioned that the bid does not include roughly four loads of rock, which will add an estimated $1,000 to $1,200 to the overall cost.
County Auditor Jill Ozuna held a lengthy discussion on the FY2026 Solutions license and Support Agreement, but did not decide on the matter. The item will be placed on the agenda for a future meeting for voting.
The board approved the Bible reading marathon on the Courthouse lawn for Monday, July 14, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Additionally, the board set the deadline for cleaning. The board set the deadline for cleaning bids for the public areas of the courthouse as June 16 at 4:30 p.m.
