(Atlantic) Atlantic (12-5) is set to host Saint Albert (15-1) in a girls’ basketball game tonight. The Trojans are on a three-game winning streak and have won six of their last seven games. Last Saturday, Saint Albert suffered their first loss against Carroll. In their previous matchup in December, the Saints triumphed over the Trojans with a score of 55-29.
Atlantic Head Coach Dan Vargason acknowledges the Saints deserve their number #1 ranking in Class 1A.
Avah Underwood leads the Saints in scoring, averaging 14.13 points and nearly 10.9 rebounds per game.
Maura Ryan is the second leading scorer, contributing 11.13 points per game.
Paytn Harter averages 16.94 points per game, Makenna Schroeder adds 10.71 points, and Katrina Williams contributes 9.59. Coach Vargason emphasizes that the Trojans’ keys will be to take care of the ball, effectively handle the press, and make easy shots.
