(Harlan) The Harlan City Council approved a recommendation for new pool hours for 2025. The hours will be Sunday through Friday from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 12:00 to 7:00 p.m. The Council also approved a recommendation for the pool pass sale for the month of April.
The Harlan City Council also approved a recommendation to move forward with the IDOT Aviation Grant for a new fuel facility at the airport.
The council took several other actions, including approving updates to the handbook regarding residency requirements. The updates remove the residency requirement for the positions of City Clerk, City Administrator, Finance Administrator, and Fire Chief. The council also approved street closure permits for the “Roar into Harlan” events scheduled from May through August. Additionally, the council approved a professional services agreement with Snyder & Associates for the 2025 Street Improvement Project and authorized the release of the deferred loan agreement with Jacobs Corporation.
