(Atlantic) The Atlantic football team is still in contention for the post-season with only two regular-season games left. The Trojans will face Harlan on Friday night and then conclude the regular season against Nevada next week. The team’s initial goal at the start of the season was to be in this position, and according to Atlantic Head Coach Joe Brummer, the idea of making a playoff run was discussed during the Simpson Camp over the summer.
The Trojans must win their remaining games to secure an automatic berth into the post-season.
Harlan, coming off a 24-21 victory over Nevada last week, poses a significant challenge for Atlantic.
Coach Brummer highlights several impact players for the Cyclones, with Bryce Van Baale leading the team in tackles and players like Dallas McDowell and Hayden Soma making notable contributions.
Coach Brummer emphasizes the importance of a quick start in this upcoming game.
Atlantic has shown prowess on special teams, with players like Ethan McNeal returning one kickoff and one punt for touchdowns, and Jarrett Hansen has one punt return for a touchdown. Harlan’s Spencer Fink has a return for a score as well.
The game is scheduled to kick off at 7:00 p.m. and will be broadcast on 95.7 F.M. Additionally, it will be live-video-streamed on westerniowatoday.com.
