(Atlantic) The Atlantic Football Team’s ground game is impressive, just two games into the season. The Trojans rushed for 365 yards in the 48-30-week zero win over Council Bluffs, Thomas Jefferson, and ran for 434 yards in the 62-7 win over Clarke last Friday night. The Trojans are averaging 10 yards per carry.
Atlantic Head Coach Joe Brummer says the offensive line is executing, and now they need to shore up the little things heading into this Friday night’s game against a tough Glenwood squad.
Coach Brummer admits his team will be tested against a “big and physical” Ram football team.
The Trojans also forced two takeaways in last Friday night’s win. Grant Petty and Hunter Nelson intercepted passes, and Derrick Wood recovered a Clarke fumble in the end zone for a touchdown.
Sioux City, East topped the Rams 41-14 last Friday night. The Rams rushed for 109 yards, led by Scott Reed’s 20 carries, for 81 yards. Rams quarterback Cole Staudt went 7-21, throwing the ball for 91 yards.
We will have the broadcast on 95.7 F.M. and live video-streamed on westerniowatoday.com. The pre-game show starts at 6:00 p.m.
