(Pottawattamie Co) Pottawattamie County Emergency Management Director Doug Reed updated the Board of Supervisors this (Tuesday) morning on the ongoing Disaster Recovery Response.
Reed said they are getting into a waiting period on declarations to be approved and they have finished the initial damage assessments from the floods and some of the storms from June 16th on.
Reed said they will probably have FEMA, the State and Small Business Administration back in to go validate those damages to see if they can get included in the individual assistance.
Reed noted that they are still trying to gather information through the long term needs assessment survey. He said at last check, about 35 people have responded. He said they are also still waiting to hear about public assistance on the original April tornadoes and storms.
