The Adair County Board of Supervisors discussed multiple topics in their weekly meeting today (July 3). The board discussed RAGBRAI coming to Greenfield on July 23 and the time window of when the bikers will be in the city. Greenfield is planning on having live entertainment for the bikes and is going to be closing roads throughout the town to prevent a lot of vehicles from parking throughout the town. According to the Board of Supervisors, the courthouse will be closed on the 23rd.
They also held a preliminary discussion for the county tax abatement, for citizens affected by the tornado. The board didn’t agree on the tax abatement and is expected to discuss the topic again next week with a possible public discussion.
The Board of Supervisors also discussed Tornado Assistance for filling in basements with dirt. The City of Greenfield is asking the county for assistance with heavy machinery, and volunteers helping fill basements with dirt.
