(Corning, IA) – At the Southwest Valley Coed meet on Thursday, the Fremont-Mills girls were able to take first with 129 points while the AHSTW and Bedford boy’s teams tied for first with a total of 75 points each.
Starting with the girl’s side, CAM finished second with 101 team points and featured some top finishers in the meet, including Alison South in first in the 400-meter dash with 1:08.66 while Jaci Eden finished second in the 400-meter at 1:11.91. CAM also featured the top two in the 800-meter run with Ada Hansen in first at 2:24.71 and Jaci Eden in second at 2:48.03. Hansen was also first in the 400-meter hurdles at 1:07.95.
Nodaway Valley finished in third at 90 team points while featuring Maddie Weston in second in the 100-meter dash at 13.12. The Wolverines had Emma Lundy come in second in the 200-meter dash at 27.04 while Megan McCall earned third in the 400-meter dash at 1:12.61. Jazz Christensen was able to take the top spot in the 1500-meter run for Nodaway at 5:51.40 while she also came in second in the 3000-meter run at 12:36.54. Jorja Holliday was able to capture second place in the shot put with a throw of 32-07.
AHSTW’s girl’s team finished fourth with 75 points and featured Brooklyn Buck in fourth in the 200-meter dash at 28.63. The girls also featured Bela Lamp in third in the 400-meter hurdles at 1:10.01. In the discus throw, Addison Carroll earned third with a throw at 100-10.
The Griswold girl’s tied AHSTW in the team results with 75 points for fourth. The Tigers featured Marissa Askeland in third at 2:49.27. Carsyn Adams finished third in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.30 while earning fourth in the 400-meter hurdles at 1:10.39. Brystol Wyman earned second in the long jump at 12-10 while Abby Gade earned fourth at 12-04.5.
Flipping the script and moving to the boy’s side, AHSTW led the way in first place while staying tied with Bedford with 75 points. First-place finishes for the Vikings include Collin Harder in first in the 1600-meter run at 4:47.57. Luke Sternberg finished second in the 200-meter dash at 22.80. Gavin Newcomb earned fourth in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.40. Jett Petersen earned second in the discus throw with a time of 135-03.
Griswold finished in fourth with 63 team points while Peyton Cook earned a third-place finish in the 110-meter dash with a time of 11.50, a second-place finish in the 110-meter hurdles at 15.20, and a third-place finish in the 57.58 in the 400-meter hurdles. Auden Wilson earned fourth in the 200-meter dash at 24.46 while Holden Jensen finished second in the 3200-meter run at 10:48.69.
Exira-EHK was able to take fifth with a total of 62 team points. Cash Emgarten earned first in the 100-meter dash at 10.92 and in the 200-meter dash at 22.54. In the field events, Emgarten earned first in the high jump with a jump of 5’10”. Austin Rasmussen earned first in the 3200-meter run at 10:43.51 and finished fifth in the 1600-meter run at 5:11.89.
CAM finished sixth with 56 team points. Jack Follman earned first place in the 110-meter hurdles with a 14.67 time overall and in the 400-meter hurdles at 55.77. Kayden Winter finished third in the 200-meter dash at 24.00. Carson McKee was able to earn second in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:13.37.
Finally, out of our local teams, Nodaway Valley earned 44 team points. The Wolverines featured Luke Kading in third in the 800-meter run at 2:14.92 and earned fourth in the 1600-meter at 5:08.33. Haden Colton earned fourth at 2:19.23. Trent Warner was able to capture second in the shot put with a throw at 43-09.
