(Ames, IA) – The Hilton winning streak continues as TCU fell on Saturday to Iowa State 71-59. Iowa State has now won 14 straight games when playing at home this season.
The Cyclones were led on the night by Tre King as he shot 4-7 from the field and knocked down 15 points to finish off the night. King also went 6-7 from the free-throw line and forced one turnover. Both Keshon Gilbert and Curtis Jones knocked down 13 points on the night. Gilbert may not have shot well from the hardwood but shot 8-9 from the free-throw line, dished out seven assists, and hauled in four boards. Robert Jones also put down eight points, all on two-pointers for Iowa State.
On the opposite end for TCU, the Horned Frogs were led on the night by Emanuel Miller with 18 points and six rebounds while shooting 8-12 from the field. TCU also featured just one other double-digit scorer on the night as JaKobe Coles put down 14 points, shooting 5-7 from the field and also going 100% from beyond the arc. No other player for TCU scored above five points on the afternoon.
TCU outrebounded Iowa State 30-25 and also led in steals 7-5. Iowa State outscored TCU in the paint 28-22 and in fast break points 9-6. The Cyclones also shot well from the charity stripe at 15-18 on the afternoon.
Iowa State’s home-winning streak of 14 games is in the top ten of home-winning streaks in the country. The Cyclones now lead the series over the Horned Frogs 17-14 overall with the win on Saturday.
