(Greenfield, IA) – Nodaway Valley has been at a constant pace with tournament after tournament this season. Notably, the Wolverines wrestled in the Charger Invitational on Saturday with a small crew that hit the mats due to minor injuries and sickness spreading throughout the team. Regardless of the numbers, Nodaway Valley featured two top finishers, Ashton Honnold and Trent Warner.
The Wolverines have a long trip going over to Gilbertville to compete in the Regional Duals against MFL MarMac in the opening round. With a healthy and fresh squad, Head Coach Brad Honnold is excited for a chance to upset against a good MFL team.
MFL MarMac features Gavin Kishman (138) who is 28-9, Tristen Koehn (165) 31-4, and Will Howes (285) 29-6 who have all been successful this season. Nodaway Valley has the weapons to compete against some of these top wrestlers and will give them a run for their money.
With almost a three-hour drive to Gilbertville, the Wolverines will be taking a pit stop along the way at Roland Story. This will help to get the guys loose and prepared to hit the mats hard in Gilbertville.
Nodaway Valley takes on MFL MarMac in the opening round on Tuesday and the winner will then hit the mats against #2 Don Bosco in the Regional Final.
