(Coralville, Iowa) The Atlantic Police Department receives a high honor.
On Wednesday night, at the Iowa Police Chiefs Association Awards Banquet, the Atlantic Police Department was honored with the Leadership in Community Policing Award for communities with populations under 10,000.
The Leadership in Community Policing Award recognizes law enforcement agencies in Iowa that demonstrate exceptional commitment to building trust, fostering partnerships, and actively engaging with their communities. This award highlights innovative programs, outreach efforts, and sustained initiatives that improve public safety while strengthening relationships between officers and the citizens they serve. Agencies considered for this award are evaluated on their effectiveness in promoting community involvement, proactive problem-solving, and collaborative policing.
Representing the Atlantic Police Department at the banquet were Reserve Officer Bob McHugh, Assistant Chief Wood, and Chief Hogue.
