(Guthrie Center) One of the Midwest’s longest-tenured country music festivals will continue its 16th year at Adventureland Resort in Altoona, Iowa.
According to their Facebook post, Guthrie’s River Ruckus is moving locations and changing dates after 15 years in its hometown of Guthrie Center, Iowa. The Ruckus 2024 will take place June 7-8 in Altoona. The festival will be strategically situated just west of the Altoona theme park. This relocation coincides with Adventureland’s 50th celebration.
This move offers festival goers a wider selection of lodging options, including Adventureland Inn and Campground, restaurants, shopping, full hook-up camping on site, and paved parking. As a bonus, all festival tickets include admission to Adventureland Theme Park and Adventure Bay Water Park throughout the two-day event. Event organizer Grant Sheeder says, “Our team is excited to move to a more centralized location that is easily accessible and offers more amenities for our fans.” He said, “We will miss being in our hometown of Guthrie Center, but it will remain an important part of where we came from.”
Details on tickets, camping, and the acts performed during the festival will be announced soon. For more information, please visit www.guthriesriverruckus.com.
