(Atlantic) The Atlantic City Council has two contested races in this year’s school and city elections. In Ward 3, Mike McDermott is challenging incumbent Pat McCurdy, and in Ward 4, Linda Hartkopf, seeking her fifth term on the council, is challenged by Shawn Sarsfield.

Linda Hartkopf is seeking her fifth term on the City Council. Hartkopf says she debated about running again and decided to pursue a fifth four-year term because of the feedback she received from constituents.
Shawn Sarsfield was born and raised in Atlantic, a 15-volunteer firefighter and EMT. Sarsfield thought running one year ago when Kathy Somers stepped down but didn’t think he had the time. Sarsfield said he was approached by several people again asking him to run, and he decided to throw his hat in the ring.
